NEW CHEESEHEADS ALBUM

May, this year, we'll start recording our follow-up to "Irrational". The new album that's going by the work-title "I'm about to snap" will be much faster and heavier than it's predecessor and will appear in september. Stay tuned for more info on the exact release-date and news, sounds and pictures from the studio! The two songs in the listen-up section called "I'd like to know" and "Artificial" will also appear on the album that's going to contain 16 SONGS (or even more!!!).

There will also be a big change on the Cheese Heads site within the next 2 months and it's not only concerning the new album... I thought it was time for a little redesigning, but you'll find out soon enough...

Server stuff

As you may have noticed, Xoom is banning mp3 files. We dropped the mp3 extension, but that makes downloading pretty hard and that sucks. We were pretty surprised when GlobalXS contacted us with a great offer: they're willing to sponsor our site by providing 10MB for free!!! The extra space will be used for mp3 files, so no more crappy downloads from now!

WE'RE BACK ONLINE!!!

Finally, after being down for half a year, we're back online! We also put up a mirror site, hosted by xoom.. The original site is still at www.globalxs.nl/home/c/cheese. But... that's not all! To celebrate that we're back we'd like to give away something to all of you pukin' punkers.
From today our two latest recorded songs up to date can be downloaded FREELY in CD-quality! check out the "listen up" section! The only thing we ask you is to give away at least THREE copies of the songs to your friends. Now you're probably starting to think "these guys have lost their last bit of sanity" and your right. almost that is. Because our CDs aren't available in any shops, nobody would ever get to know us, especially people in the States. And we thought: "they're gonna copy the song anyway" so what the fuck. These songs were recorded for the "Groetjes uit Holland" comp album and that one is pretty hard to get. It would be a shame if the song wouldn't be heart by anyone.
So, enjoy!

New shirts on the way

Yep, that's right. New shirts are on the way.

We screwed up

Now some serious news: we really screwed up in the first round of the "Zweepslag" compitition (Whiplash that is in english). Though the newspapers were rather positive, we have to admit that this was the WORST SHOW WE EVER PLAYED. Anyway, we ended up as third of a total of four bands in the qualification. Last year we won the darn thing, this year we didn't even reach the final. Oh well, it wouldn't be fun to win the same prize again, now would it? PS: my ears still hurt 'cause of the stage-mix.

NEW MATERIAL!!!

On februari 26, we'll be in the studio to record the songs "Artificial" and "I'd like to know". These two previously unreleased songs from our forthcoming album will appear on the compilation-CD "Groetjes uit Holland" (Greetings from Holland). On this double-CD you'll also find new material by "de Heideroosjes" and about twenty more bands. The album will be released in Holland, Germany, Japan and some other countries too.
At this moment I'm busy remixing some rehearsal-takes and live footage. When it's done you'll be able to download the material (mp3 files, good quality this time ;-) ) form this site.

Cheese Heads win Fender Guitar Competition

Yep, we did it. We were opening act in LIDO (Groenlo, NL). It could have been really cool to play on a stage of this size hadn't it been for the equipment of two other bands on stage; it was just plain cool now. After our 45 minutes were over (we had to cut the talking between songs in order to able to play as much songs as possible) some moron by the name of Robert Caarels got on stage. Man, he sucked (and still does). After this pee-pause, our opponents got on stage: "WHO CARES" they are quite cool, if you like cover-bands. They played quite a show and we felt like going home (LIDO is a discotheque that has a coverband every weekend; how are we supposed to win in such a place?).

After Who Cares, Liza got on stage. Man, she sucked even more than Robert Caarels. But hold on, it even gets worse: after the first song Robert came on stage and sung together with Liza. THAT REALLY SUCKED. Around 12 "Don't shoot the pianoplayer" got on stage. Not really my cup-o-tea...

It was somewhere around 1 when the members of the jury came on stage. And guess what: they actually liked our crap. The only piece of advice: work on your presentation... Man, we had 45 minutes, so we cut out every piece of talking between the songs, so we didn't have to sacrifice more songs. Too bad they were so negative about Who Cares; we kinda liked them. We left with a Fl. 1500,- ($ 750) cheque and a day for free in a recording studio. So it's up for our next CD now. Actually, we just might use the day for free to record A REAL 7".

Cheese Heads in the Czech Republic

Pardubice was great. At this moment, I'm still working on the report (with photos and stuff) so please hang on a couple more days. Make that a couple more weeks...

Follow-up album to Irrational

Yeah, that's right, the new album's on it's way. Well actually we still aren't in the studio, but most of the songs that are gonna be on it are ready by now. The free recording time we won in Groenlo comes in quite handy. This time we'll try to make a full length album, and we just might try too make a 7" in advance. Once again, the album won't be available in any stores as long as there's no record company interested. That might be bad news to us, but it's still great news for you; the album will be much, much cheaper this way ;-)

Cheese Heads and Exploited CANCELLED

Exploited didn't feel like playing in Doornroosje in Nijmegen on october 15, 'cause they have to play in London the next day. Yeah, it looks like they're getting OLD.
